Welcome to Marriott Primary School

Marriott is a primary school at the heart of the Saffron Lane community in Leicester. Our school serves a richly diverse area and reflects the many cultures, languages and experiences of the children and families who learn with us every day. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

We recognise that every community faces challenges, and we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of background or starting point, feels safe, valued and supported to succeed. Our school is a place where children are encouraged to be curious, confident and resilient learners, and where high expectations sit alongside nurture, understanding and strong relationships.

Our last Ofsted inspection (May 2022), where we were graded Good, reflects the strong culture and values that underpin our work. Inspectors noted that:

“Staff welcome every pupil to the school, regardless of how high their level of need is. They refuse to give up on any one of them.”

“Senior leaders’ integrity and dedication to the education and future of every pupil set the tone at Marriott Primary.”

“Staff work and communicate very closely together to give pupils the consistency they need.”

“No stone is left unturned to support pupils with special educational needs to access the curriculum.”

While we are proud of our growing academic standards and positive Ofsted report, these are only part of our story. Our ambition is to ignite a lifelong love of learning in every pupil, alongside resilience and a strong determination to succeed.

We feel privileged to lead a dedicated and hardworking staff team who provide exciting and stimulating lessons and experiences. The Marriott Merits encourage our pupils to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour, to grow in confidence, and to show respect and kindness to everyone they work and play with.

Parents and carers are essential partners in their child’s education. We believe pupils achieve best when staff and families work closely together, and we value the vital role parents play in supporting learning at home and school.

We are also fortunate to have a supportive and committed governing body, whose wide-ranging skills and experience help ensure we provide the very best opportunities for our pupils. Governors and staff work closely together with a shared vision for success.
