Graded Good OFSTED 28th March 2017
Welcome to Marriott Primary School, set in the heart of the dynamic and vibrant Saffron Lane estate. We are all extremely proud of our school. Marriott Primary is a school where pupils feel safe within a happy and stimulating environment, where every child is encouraged to enjoy learning and develop a lively and enquiring mind.
Our extremely positive Ofsted report and growing academic standards are only part of our story. We are determined to ignite in our pupils a lifelong zest for learning; building high self-esteem and a strong determination to succeed.
I feel privileged to lead a team of talented and committed staff who provide exciting and stimulating lessons and activities. We encourage our pupils to be responsible for their learning and behaviour, to grow in confidence and become independent learners. We expect our pupils to be well-behaved and show respect to all they work and play with.
Parents are essential partners in their child’s education; we believe that our pupils learn best when staff and parents work in partnership and depend on parent’s full involvement with their child's education.
We have a supportive and hard working group of governors who are highly skilled in different areas. Governors and staff work together to provide our pupils with the very best learning opportunities.
We look forward to working with you and your child so that Marriott Primary can continue to be the popular and very special place that it is today.

Marriott Primary School’s Safeguarding Statement
Marriott Primary School ensures children learn in a safe, caring and enriching environment. Children are taught how to keep themselves safe, to develop positive and healthy relationships, how to avoid situations where they might be at risk including by being exploited.
The school has a statutory responsibility to share any concerns it might have about a child in need of protection with other agencies and in particular police, health and children’s services. Schools are not able to investigate concerns but have a legal duty to refer them. In most instances, the school will be able to inform the parents/carer of its need to make a referral. However, sometimes the school is advised by Children’s Social Care or police that the parent/carer cannot be informed whilst they investigate the matter. We understand the anxiety parents/carers understandably feel when they are not told about any concerns from the outset. The school follows legislation that aims to act in the interests of the child.
The School’s safeguarding officers are:
Sheila Crichton Headteacher, Ruth Neill Deputy Headteacher(Lead), Hazel Tucker Assistant Headteacher,
Alma Nutting SENCO, Julie Hawker Learning & Behaviour Mentor, Ladelle Wright Foundation Lead, Joanna Merry KS2 Lead, Vanessa Power Office Manager, Rosanna Coxon Attendance Welfare Officer, Julie Chapaneri Governor.
